Kodak Portra 400 $18.00 N/A $17.00 Originally intended for portraiture, this film has risen to become one of the best films available today. With a high dynamic range, fine grain, great detail capacity, and beautiful color rendition it is easy to see why. Excels both in sunny outdoor conditions or during overcast days. Can be exposed at a lower iso (i.e. 200, 100) for rich pastel colors.
Kodak Portra 800 $19.50 N/A $17.00 A sister film to Kodak Portra 400, Portra 800 offers more sensitivity to light which can be very useful in difficult lighting situations. Excellent for lower light scenarios but also very capable during bright sunny days. Fine grain, pleasing color renditions, and wide latitude. What more could anyone ask for?
Cinestill 800T $18.00 N/A $16.00 Cinestill 800T is Kodak motion picture film with its remjet layer removed allowing it to be processed by labs around the world. Designed for low light tungsten balanced situations, this film is excellent when thinking about nighttime photography. Due to its lack of a remjet layer, halations (a red glow around highlights) will occur in overexposed areas. When you feel like your life is a motion picture film, Cinestill 800T could be what it takes to capture that feeling.
Kodak Tri-X $13.50 N/A $12.00 Since its debut in the 1940s Tri-X has made a name for itself as one of the best black and white films. Praised by photojournalists and street photographers for its wide latitude and ease of use since its release. This film has a high contrast, and is able to produce rich blacks while being able to preserve detail in the shadows and highlights. Can be pulled 1 stop or pushed up to 3 stops for even more versatility. Excellent for those who are just starting or those who have been photographing all their life, this film offers something for everyone.
Ilford Hp5 $13.00 N/A $11.00 The 5th iteration of Ilford’s Hypersensitive Panchromatic films, HP5 is well regarded for its high latitude and medium contrast. What this effectively translates to is an easy to use film that is capable of great results in a variety of lighting situations. Recommended for beginners as an introduction into black and white film photography and great for professionals due to its superb tonality.
