- Color, BW & E6
- 35mm, 120, 220 & 4×5
At Photoworks SF we celebrate everything film. Our roots are here in the lab with film developing, pristine printing and digital services from scanning to restoration.
Ready to orderYour film doesn’t travel far, since we do all our film developing right downstairs. We process 35mm film (including disposable cameras), 110, 120, 220 and 4×5 in color (c41), black and white and slide (E6).
We start here first to bring your images from the camera to the world.
Once your film is developed, you can choose your own adventure:
On file size and viewing: Listed file sizes are based on pixel dimensions. For scans made from 120 film, the file specs listed are approximate sizes from 6×6 negatives.
We cannot scan film borders for 35mm or 120 that include film stock info (i.e. Kodak Portra 400).
We can offer ’Wide Channel’ scans for 120 film which include the black around the image.
We do not offer sprocket scans for 35mm.
We are often humbled by the distance folks have traveled to visit us at our Market Street store. If you can’t come meet with us in person, we love receiving your projects by mail or through our online shop. We greet them with the same honor and care we would if you came through our doors.
Inspired by the film community we serve, we have curated a set of quality options for printing that will enhance your photo and set it on its way to be a stunning work of art you’re proud to display.
From negatives or digital files, we’ve got your printing needs covered. We offer Fuji Crystal Archive prints from 35mm and 120 film. Our technicians are all highly trained, and personal film users, so they know how to handle a negative and review every frame before we print.
Art galleries are not the only ones that appreciate the finer things in life. We’re ready to share with you everything that’s great about a fine art print. Some say it’s the glorious sheen, others declare it’s the velvety texture. If you’re local, stop by the shop and you can decide which camp you’re in.
Printed with a satin finish and stretched in a traditional gallery style, Canvas offers a great option for displaying your image with or without a frame. Its textured surface gives even your phone pictures some artistic flair, lending a painterly quality to small-file prints.
Get ready to wow. Metal is a stunning new way to display your photos. Infusing dyes directly into aluminum sheets, this process causes the images to take on a magical luminescence with vibrant colors and detail. Metal is lightweight, durable, and easy to clean.
Our frame shop opened to make sure every print out of our lab got the frame glory it deserved. Let’s find the perfect frame for your work of art.
Ready to frame? You know we love film and our analog roots, but we also appreciate all things digital and what it can do for photos. The Photoworks SF Lab team is ready to power up our computers and get to work enhancing your images from scanning and retouching to archiving and restoration.
We can scan and retouch ancient and crumbling family portraits, retouch your headshot, get the stroller out of your wedding photos and more.
Let us help you archive your important family history of prints, slides, and negatives. We can create a variety of digital files to suit your preservation needs.
The best way to easily view and share your latest film photos. We scan most film types and formats and our professional technicians correct for color and density, frame by frame.
